Experienced Optical Adviser
To join our friendly team
DW Roberts is a long established, independent family optician with five practices serving Milton Keynes and Towcester. We are currently looking to recruit a polite, well presented and reliable person with good interpersonal, communication and computer skills to join the friendly, professional team at our Bletchley Practice.
The Job
This post is a full-time permanent position including Saturdays. A driving licence and use of a car will be required as it will be necessary for the candidate to work at other DW Roberts’ branches around Milton Keynes, in which case a travel allowance will be paid.
Duties will include welcoming patients, reception duties, booking appointments, preparing clinics, measuring frames, ordering and checking spectacle jobs, advising patients on style and suitability, and making adjustments and repairs.
The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training in the use of i-Clarity practice management software.
Qualifications required:
- Candidates must be educated to GCSE grade C (4) standard
- Good communication skills and computer literacy are required
- Previous optical experience essential
- Driving licence and use of a car

We are looking for a full or part-time
Dispensing Adviser
to work at our Milton Keynes practices
DW Roberts is a long established independent family optician with five practices serving Milton Keynes and Towcester. We are currently looking to recruit a polite, well presented and reliable person with good interpersonal, communication and computer skills to join our friendly, professional team.
The Job
This post will be a full or part-time permanent position initially at our Stony Stratford practice, working a minimum of three days each week including Saturdays. Hours of work are 9.00-5.30 weekdays and 8.45-4.30 on Saturdays. A driving licence and use of a car are essential as the position may require the candidate to work at other DW Roberts’ practices when needed (travel allowance will be paid).
Duties will include, customer service, the day to day running of the reception, use of our practice management system, making appointments, preparation of clinics, adjustments and repairs and basic dispensing after training.
Salary is dependant on experience.
The Candidate
Candidates must have good communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
Previous optical experience is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be given.
Qualifications required:
Education to GCSE standard including English and Maths.
Full driving licence.

We are looking to recruit a full time
Optometrist
to work at our Milton Keynes practices
DW Roberts has a strong, committed and loyal team of optometrists, dispensing opticians and support staff across our five local practices in Bletchley, Newport Pagnell, Stony Stratford, Towcester and Wolverton. The working environment is friendly and sociable as well as being professional and we strive to keep up with the latest technology and professional development and training for our staff.
We are looking to recruit a full-time Optometrist to work at our Milton Keynes practices. Working days will include Saturdays.
The successful candidate will be required to carry out thorough (30 minute) eye examinations, contact lens assessments and aftercare appointments. We would also like them to take on more varied responsibilities including training as a Schoolvision practitioner carrying out specialist tests to identify and correct early vision difficulties. Full training will be given.
Ideally we are looking for
- A fully qualified and GOC registered optometrist
- Someone who is flexible and able to work well under their own initiative as well as being a great team member.
- Contact lens experience (training will be given)
- Excellent patient and communication skills.
- A natural affinity with children
- A full driving licence
Salary:
